The MCSA Group have worked with Anglo American for 13 years, providing a range of IT support services to the Corporate London Head Office, together with remote services to the Luxembourg operations.
The MCSA Group first signed a contract with Anglo American in 2001 to provide procurement, installation, configuration and support for 15 servers, including Lotus Notes, file/print, and SQL support, but over time the scope of the agreement was extended to give The MCSA Group responsibility for 150+ servers and multiple applications.
Over the course of its 13-year relationship with Anglo American, The MCSA Group’s core services have included 24x7x365 infrastructure maintenance; management of subcontractors and service providers; server administration; desktop and video conferencing; project work, application and infrastructure monitoring. For 7 years, The MCSA Group were also responsible for the maintenance of Anglo American’s Hyperion Financial Management (HFM) solution which it uses to consolidate financial results across all of its international territories.
The MCSA Group provided the infrastructure support for HFM including SQL database management and application server support. In 2007 Anglo American put its entire Global IT infrastructure out to tender and the contract was won by a consortium of HP and BT.
However, The MCSA Group were retained as an ad-hoc IT procurement provider. Today, The MCSA Group also now provide an IT resource team for various roles to Anglo American in London including 24x7x365 support.
