MCSA have extended its reach by winning a place on the new SSSNA framework which supports IT procurement in the Higher Education sector. MCSA’s place on the Southern Universities Purchasing Consortium (SUPC) SSSNA framework (Servers, Storage and Solutions National Agreement) follows their successful experience in the support for the Public Sector, including the NHS and Scottish Government.
The new framework which started in Nov 2016 and lasts for 4 years, is said to be worth between £200m and £600m; the framework represents higher education institutes across the south of England, and is a leading procurement on behalf of a range of other buying groups including the Higher Education Purchasing Consortium for Wales (HEPCW), the London Universities Purchasing Consortium (LUPC), the North West Universities Purchasing Consortium (NWUPC), the North Eastern Universities Purchasing Consortium (NEUPC) and the Advanced Procurement for Universities and Colleges (APUC). The framework is designed to act as one stop shop for the procurement of IT infrastructure under a pre-tendered agreement. By procuring on the framework, Higher Education institutions benefit from consistently competitive pricing, along with a high level of quality service thanks to a strict service level agreement.
The framework focuses on the provision of major purchases covering IT servers, storage and solutions, as well as associated maintenance and support, and is split into four ‘Lots’: MCSA will be present across all 4 Lots, Lots 1, 2 & 3a with Huawei and Lot 4 of the framework, covers delivery of innovative vendor solutions, including object storage, converged and hyper-converged solutions.
- Lot 1 – Compute
- Lot 2 – Storage
- Lot 3a – Solutions in the compute, servers and storage arena
- Lot 4 – Compute and Storage Solutions.
The framework award allows MCSA to expand their expertise further into the education sector and provide a more holistic solution to our higher and further education customers, Craig Fairs, Group Public Sector Sales Manager, comments, “This is a very exciting time for MCSA. Having supported Newcastle University with their IT solutions, we are keen to continue supporting the higher education sector.”
