Paul Timms, The MCSA Group Managing Director, explains that for businesses to cope with the impact of technology growth, their IT infrastructure must be in top shape
As we enter 2016, the world of technology innovation continues at a relentless pace – significantly impacting on the way we conduct our lives. There are many implications for businesses too – from employees wanting 24/7, anywhere access to information and their emails – to the exponential increase in data. To cater for these requirements, which are resulting from the major tech trends that I have highlighted below, businesses will need a robust, modern IT infrastructure that runs at an optimal level.
The tech effect
Smartphones and tablets are now our ‘always available’ computers that rarely leave our sides. These innovations, coupled with new wearable technology- that run mobile apps, play music and act as a telephone – will evolve to enable easier communications and social networking. This will also fuel greater demand for more instant contact with friends and colleagues around the globe – with immediate access to information becoming the expected norm.
Connectivity will also drive further change, with the well hyped promises of the Internet of Things, enabling many more tasks to be done via the internet. Amongst the thousands of possibilities of IoT will be fridges that can replenish food by sending an order through to supermarkets as well as highlight recipes that will use food which is close to its sell by date.
Managing tech opportunities
These key trends will create an even more connected world – making many more things possible for a wider group of people. To successfully cope with this change, businesses will need to deliver ever-smarter networks, higher levels of smarter storage and security – with the ability to cope with tighter rules on processes and compliance. One thing that will never change is having an IT infrastructure in the best possible shape to manage all of this.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”2/3″][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″][/vc_column][/vc_row]
